The Pandemic is pushing people to move

published on 10/12/2020

After a year of frustration for everyone, it has led to an increase in the number of people feeling they need to move in order to achieve a better work, rest and play lifestyle.
Whilst there is renewed optimism that life may return to what we once all knew pre lockdown 2020, many people believe that their work patterns and locations may never return to what was once normal. In fact, half of UK homeowners aged 18-24, and one third of those aged 25-34 are planning on moving house in the next 12 months due to Covid-19.
It seems being cooped up during lockdown has also had an impact with one third of homeowners aged under 45 saying a bigger garden is the feature they would most like to add to their current home.
More natural light (15.8%) is more popular than a number of practical additions, such as a home office (13%) or home gym (11.9%).
There is then little surprise that house prices have increased by 7.6% according to Halifax building Society. Tags: Pandemic, House Move, Home Move, Estate Agent, Stamp Duty Holiday, Guildford, Kingston Upon Thames
